Chemo Day

imageimageToday is chemo day.  I am getting it right now.  I want to share something from last night.imageimage

Tuesday night is ‘family supper night’ at our house.  Now I do feed my family supper other nights of the week {well, most nights}.  But on Tuesday the grown & married children come over for supper.  Stephanie and Samuel told me that we were eating at the Texas Roadhouse for our family supper last night.  So, we all drove up to meet at the Roadhouse.  When we pulled into the parking lot I could see bunches of lime green balloons flying out front and that got my curiosity up.  Then when we went to walk into door there was the sign pictured above….saying that Tuesday, May 7th, was ‘Lymphoma Awareness Night”..  All of the employees were wearing lime green and there were lots more lime green balloons inside.  Best of all, Texas Roadhouse donated a portion of their sales yesterday  to the American Cancer Society. Tee shirts were also sold saying “I Wear Lime Green For Annette”. and lime green bracelets saying “No one fights alone, Annette”, with proceeds from those going to Relay For Life.  We had a wonderful family supper with extended family and good friends arriving to eat with us as well.  I am sooooo blessed!!!!

My son-in-law Mac does caricatures at the Texas Road House on Tuesday evenings, so the photo of grandbaby Eddie sitting in the chair is him sitting very still for his daddy to draw his caricature {Eddie calls him poppa}.

My brother Dave came up with a great idea when I sent him pictures of the surprise party… have a ‘Wig Burning Party” and those who come make a donation to the American Cancer Society.  And if you can’t come I can e-mail of pic of me burning my wig and you can make a donation to the American Cancer Society yourself.  I really like that idea.  That won’t be for a few months but I will let every one know when it will be.

The last time I had chemo {which was the first also} one of the drugs made me sorta miserable.  My throat, eyes and ears itched a lot, and I had a rough headache.  That didn’t happen this time. Yipee.  Just feeling sleepy from the benadryl.  Which is good, because I am sleepy enough that I am not fidgety sitting here for 5 hours.   I am hoping I won’t get the aches and chills like I had the last time…..but if I do, it’s a small price to pay for a complete healing.

Thank you for your prayers.
